Greetings,

There appears to be a problem with the question header field.

If I open a dynamic question's properties and set a question header, then Update the Field and then open another Dynamic question, the same text is there for the question header. If I don't notice this and click the Update Field link, it then saves that text for the second question.

FYI, I was using the plain text input but I think the same thing happens for the Rich Text editor.

Regards,

Justin.

Hi Justin,

I am unable to duplicate this on our test site, betasprings.com.  Can you please tell me what version of Dynamic Forms you have and also what DNN version you're using?

Also, are you able to give us temporary edit rights to your site?  If you are, please open a support ticket from Snowcovered.com and provide us with login and password (preferably host account)?

Thanks,
Candace

Hi Candace,

Thanks for your reply.

We are using v2.7.4 of Dynamic Forms and v4.8.4 of DNN.

I will see what I can do regarding the login and raise a support ticket.

Regards,

Justin.

Hi again,

I didn't realise about betasprings.com. How do I get into it to test it? The register link just keeps going back to the login page and there is no option to add a page when I click the Dynamic Forms button on the left.

Regards,

Justin.

Hi Justin,

Log in using host / dnnhost as username / password.  Then just add your page using Dynamic Forms as the parent page.  Oh and by the way, check out the page I'm testing on:  DSTraining Form.   The header does not seem to copy over to the next field(s) but I see what you're saying about the header being set to the size of the label and not the field textbox.

Hi Candace,

I have just created a page on BetaForms and got it to display the problem (perhaps it is the types of questions being used or something).

My page is called "Test Question Header problem - Justin".

Try the following steps:

1. Put the page into edit mode

2. Click the Manage Questions / Manage your Dynamic Fields button

3. Select "This is my first question" from the dropdown

4. Switch the Question Header editor to Basic Text Box

Note that the Question Header for this question is set to "This is the header for the first question"

5. Select "This is my second question" from the Dynamic Question dropdown at the top

In my case, the question header now still says "This is the header for the first question" even though I am on the second question.

It appears to only happen when the Header editor is in Basic Text Box mode. I have not tested the Footer to see if the same thing happens.

Hopefully you get the same results as I do and can see what I mean.

Regards,

Justin.

Hi Justin,

Hmmm...that is weird. Thanks for setting that up. I was able to duplicate the problem and identified that it only occurs when using Basic Text Editor. Are you able to meet your form requirements by just using the Rich Text Editor instead? Let me know, ok? Thanks!

I'm glad you were able to replicate the problem. I agree it is a bit weird. It is certainly no big deal, just annoying.

The showstopper for me at the moment is the issue of the question label/header being squashed up as per my other posting. I can't make our site live until I get this one solved somehow as the form looks messy in IE. If you are able to offer any suggestions on that posting, it would help a lot.

Regards,

Justin.

I know what you mean. I'm submitting this issue for review by the development team.

Meanwhile, I'll see if what I can find for your other thread on colspan & field label length. I'll be posting any responses on that thread, not this. Thanks!
