Hi, i am importing users with the option of letting the importer create passwords, based on 6digits with a prefix of 1.

90% of the log contains this error, the rest imports correctly.

"User Status (failed) :user failed w/ status: InvalidPassword;"

Any ideas why?

We recently discovered some code (which is stupid) which basically says that its not going to create passwords for users unless they have a first name / last name. We have removed this code for the next update but my theory is that if you are importing users and they don't have a first/last name its never generating the password properly for them.

So... Are you importing first and last names and if so are many of them blank?

Hi, well yes and no. A brief look at my import file tells me some users is lacking it but not that many. However many users have polish characters in the names, can this be it?

Thx

Hmmm... Well it should support polish characters, or any characters as far as I know. What is your encoding property set to in the web.config as the 'Default Encoding'? You can find this in your web.config that looks like this:

What does yours look like? You might have to make sure the encoding is set to allow those characters.

Yes all other parts of the portal works. However this is not a big issue, the passwords can be created before importing.

Thx
